S’pore Changi Airport —> HongKong Int. Airport —> Tsim Sha Tsui —> ShenZhen —>Disneyland —> Kowloon —> HKIA —> SIA
This trip was my first time to fly on Singapore Airline…which always heard to be one of the best airlines. Indeed, 4 hours flight on SQ was easily passed with the computer screen in front of the seat.
The Concrete Jungle
On the way to the town, there were only skyscrapers along both sides of the highway. The condos were all at least 30-floors high. The weather was just nice around 15-20 deg celcius while the cooling breeze approached once in a while.
Tsim Sha Tsui - The exTreme bz Town
We were sent to the hotel in TsimShaTsui to check in in advance. I was hope to get the room with fabulous view out of the windows as the room was 21st-flr . However my wish couldn’t be granted. So i just give up and try to walk around the streets nearby the hotel. Most of the shops were closed as it was the 2nd day of CNY. Feeling hungry, we found a small restaurant. OMG! just a simple meal as dumpling noodle soup cost HKD30.00 per bowl (about RM15.00). And the price of the drinks were even unbelievable. Can u imagine spending RM6.00 for a small cup of milk tea (the cheapest drink) in a road-side restaurant?
After the meal we heard there going to have firework show at the parade somewhere around, so we decided to walk there. U don’t have to worry about losing yourself there coz there were thousands and millions of people walking the same way to the parade. The crowd was jus simply out of describation. But no matter how we managed to squeeze in n placed ourselves for a restricted-view site. The firework was amazing and i finally understand why that worth for all the HK ppl to squeeze there for a 20 mins show.
Typical Tour-Schedule =.=
As usual if u follow a tour, they will bring u to those "tourist attraction" (where all the products sold actually brings commission to the tour guide) like chinese medicine shops and jewellery factory. After experiencing so much in China before, we simply looked around and just avoid ourselves to have "eye-contact" with the promoters there. Coz if u spent more than 5 seconds staring at any product there, the promoter sure approached u and persuaded u and even followed u. And to know that their skill of promoting is probably the best in the world =.=""
ShenZhen - walk walk and walk
We took the MTR (Mass Transit Railway) to ShenZhen from TsimShaTsui. ShenZhen is a well-developed town of China which attached closely to HK. The last station of the train was actually the immigration of China. The journey was extremely tiring as we had to drag the luggage all the way no matter ascending the stairs, descending the stairs, cross the skybridge, cross the road, Q up in immigration….What i can conclude is never go ShenZhen again if having the chance to go HK next time.
The hotel there was a tragedy. and they called it a 3 star hotel. @@" The room was tiny, the toilet’s tiles was cracked, the kettle was rusty, the lights of the toilet was dim, the ceiling was on ‘hole’…. and i hardly believed i could survive myself 2 nights there. Thanks to the tiring journey in ShenZhen and made me just lay myself down on the bed without really care much how the room look like.
Travel around the world without visas!
We went to the Window of the World in ShenZhen the next morning. That was a place where you can find all the wonders of the world scaled down in there. Eiffel Tower, London Bridge, Angkor Wat, Fuji Mountain, Pyramids, Great Wall China…etc. It was worth paying HKD 240.00 per person but there was 1 thing i keep wondering. In the SouthEastAsia area, even the small statue of lion representing Singapore was laid there. But the landmark of Malaysia was nowhere to be seen. Isn’t it that the Twin Tower was so famous? or KL tower? Long-house of Sarawak? Maybe this is the time to really think about it.
Next to the Window of the World there was an ordinary-looking hotel. Nevertheless, it was the best hotel in ShenZhen. not the size of it. not the attracting exterior of it. We were told that the lifts in there could actually reach EVERY ROOMS. not only every floor. !!!
After travelling around the world, we were taken to the Scaled Down China, where once again they scaled down all the landmarks or representing place of interest all around China. Pity that our legs can’t walk anymore…so we slowly walked without having purpose, until the stage show began.
That show was the best ever i’ve watched…the stage lightings and effect was incredible. And all the dancers were all well known dancers in their country where they’ve been performed in Europe as well.
Disneyland!
How we get to ShenZhen, so that’s how we get back to HK. (including the dragging luggages part =.=) that’s was early in the morning but the train already so crowded. The destination today was Disneyland (although it’s the smallest Disneyland). I thought i could see the castle even tt was stil far away but i can’t. so imagine how small it is. I don’t wanna spend 1 hour queuing up for the roller coaster and spend only 3 mins on it so i rather took my lil sis to take photos around. Still, the numbers of people was still scary. UNfortunately, the rains drop ruthlessly. We’re not smart enuf to bring raincoat or umbrella like other ppl. but there were still people who don’t care of the rain and continue their journey. So we find a shelter n hide there for quite a moment. And this is the best selling time for the souvenir shop as people rushed in there for sheltering purpose but couldn’t take their eyes off of the souvenirs.
It was quite an exciting experience though…for me who never been to Disneyland. So waving goodbye to Mickey and his friends, we headed back to HK town.
Kowloon - shopping heaven
Kowloon is the shopping heaven for me and my mum, but probably the hell for my dad ( LOL!). Right in front of the hotel we stayed in Canton Road there were uncountable shops and shopping malls. While along Canton Road we didn’t enter any of the shops coz the prices of LV, Prada, D&G, Dior…… Well, so we just pretend not to see the people Queuing up to enter LV.
Unforgettable Flight Experience
The flight back to Singapore was still a SQ plane. Settled down myself on the seat, and i start to look for movie to watch. Not too long after that, a big-sized caucasian old man seems approaching and his seat was right in front of mine. A stewardess kindly asked for his boarding pass so that she could make sure that that was his seat but suddenly this old man shouted so loudly to the stewardess.
"How many times you have to check on my boarding pass?! Before i board u check, when i enter u check and now u still wanna check?! I don’t care ur bloody rules and u bloody people…and bloody @#$%….."
He immidiately became the focus there. The stewardess still remained her smile and explained nicely to him but he still keep uttering "bloody" in every of his sentence. So eventually he settled down. "PUFF!" he threw his butt so hard onto the seat until my orange juice splashed. OMG what the…. Lucky it din splashed on my cloths. The uncle beside me was so pissed that i actually keep telling him it was okay.
30 mins after that, the stewardesses were giving out the foods. And I din thought of this food-giving thingy could actually "provoked" this old man.
"Are u trying to wake me up?!! Do ya know that your food delivery has actually woke me up?"
"sorry sir…so would u like have a meal?"
"NO! I just wanna let u know that your action has already woke me up!"
OMG…..this unreasonale old man. i can see all the people were shaking their head and sighed. When i was enjoying my movie while eating the fish fillet with potato, "PUFF!!" Again! My drink splashed on my food. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!I almost couldn’t stand anymore but i dun wanna make a fuss. Until i cooled myself down with the dessert of Haagen-Daaz ice-cream.
Back in Singapore…soon the air was so sticky and hot compared to HK. It was quite an experiece to look around HK, the Oriental Pearl. The architecture there was also an eye-opener for me but too bad following a tour i couldn’t get to see the HongKong-Shanghai Bank by Norman Foster. Except for the last part of the journey on flight, i think this HK trip will still be memorable.
